Torquay Art Print II
A whale tail drawn in the sand at Torquay, not as art for art's sake, but as a statement. The local community paddled out in protest against the largest seismic blasting proposal in Australian history, a plan that would have sent blasts louder than an atomic bomb through the Great Australian Bight every ten seconds, around the clock, for up to 400 days. This image was their message.
Torquay is the unofficial capital of Australian surf culture and the gateway to the Great Ocean Road, but it's also a community that takes the health of its coastline seriously. The protest brought together surfers, families, scientists and locals who understood exactly what was at stake for marine life along the southern coast.
Printed on museum-grade paper and Australian made, each print is available framed or unframed in a range of sizes. Torquay wall art for any home.
