Coogee's other claim to fame, right there at the top of the steps: the rainbow crossing at the McIver's end of the beach, a nod to the LGBTQ history that runs deep in this part of the coast. It's become as much a photo stop as the beach itself, tourists and locals both pausing mid step to snap it before heading down to the sand.
This aerial print catches it from directly above, the amphitheatre steps fanning out like a shell, long tree shadows stretching down the beach, and that arc of colour sitting right in the middle of it all. Classic Coogee on a sunny day, minus the crowds queuing for the pool up the road.
