Point Lonsdale Wall Art: A Local's Guide to the Bellarine's Most Iconic Lighthouse Town

Point Lonsdale Wall Art: A Local's Guide to the Bellarine's Most Iconic Lighthouse Town

Point Lonsdale: The Bellarine at Its Best

I've lost count of how many times I've stood on the cliff at Point Lonsdale watching the rip push through the heads. It never gets old. That lighthouse up on the bluff, the fishing boats nosing through the channel, the long stretch of beach curving back toward Ocean Grove. Point Lonsdale is one of those places that gets into your bones, and once it does, it stays there.

It's no surprise that Point Lonsdale wall art is some of the most popular work I sell. People who love this part of the Bellarine Peninsula really love it. They holiday here every January, their kids learned to swim here, they're thinking about retiring here. And they want it on their wall.

What Makes Point Lonsdale So Good to Photograph

The lighthouse is the obvious subject, and for good reason. It's been standing there since 1902 and it genuinely looks the part. But what I love about shooting Point Lonsdale is the range. You've got the drama of the rip channel and the heads. You've got the calm of the back beach at low tide. You've got the pier, the rockpools, the bluff looking back across to Queenscliff. There's a lot to work with.

I've shot here across all seasons and in all kinds of light, from flat grey winter mornings to golden late-afternoon summer light. The colours in these prints are real. That deep blue-green of the water through the heads, the warm tones of the limestone cliff, the white of the lighthouse tower against a big open sky. These aren't filtered to death. What you see is what Point Lonsdale actually looks like on a good day.

My Point Lonsdale Art Print IV has been one of my best sellers across the whole range, and I think it's because it captures the feeling of the place rather than just the landmark. If you've stood on that bluff and felt the wind off Bass Strait, you'll recognise it immediately.

Bellarine Peninsula Art Prints for Every Kind of Wall

I've got a full collection of Point Lonsdale art prints, each one shot on a different day, from a different angle, in different conditions. That means there's something for different spaces and different tastes.

  • Want something bold for a living room feature wall? Go bigger. An L or XL classic frame in black or oak looks incredible and starts from $89.
  • Decorating a holiday rental in Point Lonsdale? A few well-chosen prints of the local area make guests feel genuinely connected to the place. Locals have told me their Airbnb guests constantly ask about the art.
  • Looking for a gift? A framed Bellarine Peninsula art print for someone who grew up here, or who proposed here, or who brings their family back every summer is hard to beat. It's specific and it's personal in a way that generic art simply isn't.

If you're not sure which format to go with, I'd recommend checking out my guide to choosing the right frame for coastal wall art. It breaks down the difference between classic frames, floating frame canvas and shadow box frames so you can pick what suits your space.

Take the Coast Home

A few people have bought my Point Lonsdale prints because they live overseas and wanted something to remind them of home. That gets me every time. The idea that a photo I took on a Tuesday morning with the sea mist still lifting is now hanging in someone's apartment in Canada or London, making them feel like they're back on the Bellarine, is genuinely why I do this.

But you don't have to be an expat to feel that pull. Plenty of people buy a print because they want their favourite holiday spot on the wall year-round. And Point Lonsdale is exactly the kind of place that deserves that spot.

Take a look at the full collection, starting with Point Lonsdale Art Print I and Point Lonsdale Art Print IV. All prints are made to order, printed and shipped from Victoria, and come with free shipping across Australia. Frames are solid FSC certified timber and come ready to hang straight out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Point Lonsdale wall art prints are available?

There are six Point Lonsdale art prints in the collection, each shot by me personally at different locations around the bluff, lighthouse and coastline. They come as unframed prints, classic framed prints, floating frame canvas or shadow box frames, in sizes from XS right up to EPIC at 100x150cm. Prices start from $89.

Do you ship Point Lonsdale prints to anywhere in Australia?

Yes, free shipping Australia-wide on every order. Prints are made to order and shipped from Victoria. There's no pickup option and I don't ship internationally at this stage.

What size print should I buy for a living room feature wall?

For a feature wall in a living room, I'd generally recommend an L (59.4x84.1cm) or XL (84.1x118.9cm). These sizes have real presence on the wall without overwhelming a standard room. If you've got a large open-plan space, the EPIC size at 100x150cm makes a serious statement. Check out my size guide for more help.

Are the Point Lonsdale prints good for a holiday rental or Airbnb?

Location-specific art is one of the best things you can put in a holiday rental. Guests who know and love Point Lonsdale will recognise it straight away, and it gives the space a genuine connection to where they're staying. I've had multiple Airbnb owners in the area come back for more prints after seeing how well they went down with guests.

If you've got a question about sizing, framing or which print might suit your space, feel free to reach out. I'm easy to get hold of and happy to help.
